NAG: Northeast Atlantic Geosciences

NAG, Northeast Atlantic Geoscience, is a cooperative framework agreement signed on September 15, 2008 by the chief executives of the National Geological Surveys of Great Britian (including Northern Ireland), Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Iceland, and Denmark and Greenland (including the Faroe Islands).

The NAG initiative identified 5 theme areas where there is significant overlap between the interests of the surveys. These include:

  • Tectonic development of the North Atlantic
  • The North Sea
  • Seabed mapping
  • Urban geology
  • Groudwater issues.
